Efficiency & Uniformity
My decades-long work in item in writing for exam development has been a highlight of my career. I've recently had the opportunity to provide consultation in additional capacities, namely process improvement and crisis communication services. I helped create a new system to document and maintain key organizational information and institutional knowledge so that all members can readily access relevant content and context.
Setup & context
As item development consultants cycle off and new consultants are brought on, the onboarding process had been informal and very personal. This is a legacy of the authentic relationships the Association values deeply. I saw the opportunity to bring uniformity and consistency to the onboarding process, which in turn will improve consistency of consultant services and save staff time.
The challenge & problem PROCESS
The Association is always striving for improvement and was open to improving processes to improve efficiency and uniformity in onboarding training. Stakeholders provided their feedback as the manual developed.
Launch, impact, results
Stakeholders were positive about the new process and manual and the initiative is a success.
